Jason Studied at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW, where he received a Bachelor of Digital Media. In his own practice he has created a number of short films, ranging from documentary, drama, to the experimental and digital animation. A major focus of his practise has been exploring the possibilities of media and performance.
He created the visuals for Dance North's 'Tangled Whispers', and for Sydney Theatre Company's 'This Little Piggy'. He was also created, with Ben Walsh, the projections for Sue Healey's 'It was Time' for TasDance's season 'Divine Harmonies'.
He has an ongoing collaboration with acclaimed choreographer Jason Pitt, with whom he has performed and created the visuals for; 'inasmuch' (nominated for an Ausdance Award 2004), 'Blueprint' and 'Tarkett'.
He has also worked with the Sydney Dance Company on several occasions, creating the critically acclaimed visual design for the revival of Graeme Murphy's classic 'Some Rooms' in 2004 and for Gavin Mitfords 'Emotor' in SDC's Random Play season 2003. He was also commissioned to create the visual projections for Bayerisches Staatsballett’s ‘Die Silberne Rose’ 2005(chor. Graeme Murphy).

Outside the dance and theatre world, he has contributed visual effects for the award winning AFTRS film 'The Watchers' and created animated engineering and architectural visualisations for RSJ and the John Holland Group. He has been exhibited in the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Centre for Moving Image, Melbourne, as part of the 'Space Odysseys : Sensation and Immersion' Exhibition, 2001.
His poetic dance film with poet, Gareth Sion Jenkins, ‘Unfed’ was a finalist in the Zebra Poetry Film Awards, Berlin 2006 and was shown at Interfilm Berlin 2006 and at the Antipodean Festival, St Tropez as well as other festivals nationally and internationally. Also with Gareth, he created a interactive poem, Furnace Touch for the 2006 Newcastle Poetry Prize.
He is also interested in digital architecture and consults with UTS on their Master of Digtal Architecture Program.

He is often called upon as videographer, documenting the East Coast Classic Rally, the performance artist Stelarc, and shooting a pilot documentary investigating the use of art and sculptoral training for plastic surgeons, in addition to performances and events.

While he may appear to have an unholy relationship with his laptop, he does enjoy old media as well, and can often be found surrounded by masses of trace, plasticine, paints, pencils, charcoal and crayons.

He is a keen photographer, spending hours wandering the streets hoping for that perfect moment. Some of which can be seen here

He was privileged to be invited to attend Time_Place_Space 4, a National Initiative in Hybrid Arts in Adelaide and a Moving Image residency with Raw Space in Brisbane.

He has an abiding love for cartoons and spends what free time he has doing life drawing, perfecting his animation along with plotting world domination.

Pictures shall be forthcoming at some point in the future. Or not.
