Recently found a recording by Sara Mingardo with Concerto Itlaiano which is mindblowingly beautiful, one of the few true contraltos today, it really is sublime
I'm a sucker for early music, pre classical and classical
so I am always listening to various musics - seconde stavaganze -venetian and neapolitan music, A solo by Paolo Pandolfo which has music by Ortiz, Hume, Marais, etcetc, various Australian Chamber Orchestra recordings Corelli, Vivaldi (other than the 4 seasons), Marais, Pergliosi, Bach, mozart, faure, prokofiev, massenet, puccini, schubert, nyman, part, glass, goreki, vaughan williams, granados, barber, kronos quartet, balanescu, brian eno, david byrne, piazzola
me like jazz so there is nina and ella, monk
in terms of contemporary/popular music
radiohead, sigur ros, bjork, nick cave, evanescene, within temptation, lamb, mum (go the ambient electronica), the album leaf, kate bush, the cure, william burroughs remixes (super cool. dig up 'spare ass annie'), coldplay, smashing pumpkins, basement jaxx, hotel costas
